Five things every car fan should have at home – Purchase guide FEATURETTE
5 Products where car enthusiasts go wild:
It's that time again! Yes, December is just around the corner. Black Friday is slowly winding down and making way for the Christmas sales, because Christmas is less than a month away. Throughout the year, we have been stocking up on model cars ourselves. As passionate collectors of these pieces of jewellery, this is hardly surprising. So you might think that we would simply recommend a particular model car that car fans simply HAVE to treat themselves to. That's right, because you'll soon be able to see it on our YouTube channel. But in this article, we're going to introduce you to five things that have something to do with cars, but are quite different than the usual content you know from us! Here are our five products that every car fan must have in their home or are cool gift ideas for car lovers.
Windsible Fun-Tech-Lab windtunnel:
The wind tunnel has always been an integral part of racing to optimise the aerodynamic components of a car. With the desktop wind tunnel from Fun-Tech-Lab, model car collectors will soon be able to test their model cars in their own miniature wind tunnel. The size makes it possible to take this device with you wherever you go. In future there will be 3 versions suitable for 1:64, 1:24 and 1:18 scale models. This means that the smallest 1:64 version of the device will be 350 mm in length, while the version for 1:18 models will be just under 950 mm. A controller on the display can be used to set how much the wind should be turned up in relation to the scale.
The panoramic glass provides a perfect view from the side and top of the vehicle being tested. This is because the integrated light makes the wind threads visible. The manufacturer also claims that the wind flow generated from the liquid will not damage the paintwork of the model car, even if it is used for a longer time period. In the meantime, the device has made a name for itself on social media and has been diligently shared by influencers on all channels. However, as in our case, it is a test version and is not yet freely available in stores. It is important to know: This product is currently still listed as a pre-order, the production run should take place as soon as possible as the first pre-orders will be delivered in December.
Le Mans Car Collection:
We have already reported on the LeMans Car Collection in another article. Here we go into a little more detail, because this collection reads like a picture book, like a who's who of Le Mans racing history. The 24 Hours of Le Mans (French: 24 Heures du Mans) is an endurance race for sports cars organised near the French city of Le Mans. The race has been held annually since 1923 on the Circuit des 24 Heures south of the city, sections of which are used as country roads outside of the race events. Originally, the circuit, with a lap length of around 17.3 km, extended as far as the centre of Le Mans and was shortened in 1932 to its current length of around 13.5 km. Over the years, cars and drivers have gone from heroes to legends. All these moments from more than 100 years of Le Mans are impressively portrayed by the LeMans Car Collection through a unique opportunity to receive two 1:43 scaled cars per month by subscription.
From old to ultra-modern hypercars, each meticulously detailed with replica liveries, you'll be able to relive, model after model, the most demanding race of all time. The models are mounted on plinths and displayed in crystal cases by the way. Incidentally, the models are from IXO, a well-known manufacturer of high-quality and highly detailed models. The complete collection comprises 20 vehicles, each model is supplied with a magazine showing the most important and impressive events that were achieved with this vehicle. Be it from a technical, historical or driving point of view, motorsport history is conveyed to racing fans like never before. Included are all vehicles of distinction, such as the McLaren F1 GTR, Porsche 917K, Ford GT40 and Mazda 787B, to name but a few. An absolute must for every car fan.
Lego based Ferrari 488 GTE Manual 8 Speed Gearbox
Originally conceived as a MOC, or โMy Own Creationโ, this product was released for the wholesale market. In 2021, LEGO released the Technic Ferrari 488 GTE with the AF Corse #51 package with the number 42125 as a Technic set. Technic Brick Power came up with the idea of designing a technical model that mimics the gearbox gearing rations of the real Ferrari 488 GTE. Not as an 8-speed automatic, of course, but as an 8-speed manual gearbox so that you can experience for yourself how the gears are shifted.
This lego gearbox design implements the gearing ratios of 7 forward gears and one reverse gear matching the gearing ratios of the Ferrari 488 gearbox. The final model is demonstrated by driving an 8 cylinder lego technic engine using a large PF (Power Functions) motor and switching between all of the 8 possible gears. Weighing almost 1kg, with just under 700 parts, this set offers a perfect opportunity to experience how the transmission and engine work by building it yourself. This set is also the perfect way to improve your technical understanding of a gearbox and a cool way to build it up with family and friends together.
SNT CA51 1:43 MIX GO Series Car Remote Control Version
We have also reported on and tested this manufacturer in detail both on our website and on our social media channels. In recent years, Diatone has had a very large line-up of remote-controlled vehicles with the Sniclo Remote models. Special feature: The top variant was equipped with an FPVBOX camera and goggles in addition to the RC car. The camera is positioned on the car and transmits perfectly smooth images to the goggles. This allows the RC vehicle to be steered virtually from the perspective of the model car and exciting races can be held. This is also an unforgettable experience in general, which enters a new round with the latest CA51 vehicle.
The remote control has been further improved, as well as the battery life and performance of the vehicle, making it the largest and most powerful model in the Sniclo family. The design of this vehicle is based on the VW Golf MK7 and also has underbody lighting as well as front and rear lights and two different tyre sets. This also allows the vehicle to drift all the way. The perfect model if you are looking for something to chase round the bends, especially indoors! And with this OVP Camera, you get an unique experience you definitely have to try it out once in your lifetime!
Lego based MOC Formula 1 Car, 1/8-scaled Ferrari SF-24
The Formula 1 season will soon be over and Max Verstappen has become world champion for the fourth time in his Redbull. Only the Constructors' Championship still seems to be open, especially as McLaren, RedBull and Ferrari are still in the race. So what could be more fitting than building an extremely accurate 1:8 scale Formula 1 model out of Lego bricks, which looks incredibly good? Weighing more than 3kg, this masterpiece is made up of almost 3400 parts and comes without any labelling or glue. It must therefore be said that it is not an exact replica of the SF-24, but is only modelled as closely as possible to avoid any licensing problems. The assembly is rather challenging and an instructive affair, visually the SF-24 really looks good and is the perfect way to pass long winter days. Because assembling the SF-24 together with family and friends is particularly and surely an unforgetable experience!
