How it all began The DTM was already known as the DRM, the German Racing Championship, in 1972 and enjoyed enormous popularity. Originally, production-based Group 2 touring cars competed in the racing series before the FIA adapted the regulations in 1982 and paved the way for Group C sports cars. Bōsōzoku, the craziness of Japan POP RACE FEATURETTE
Welcome to the Bōsōzoku subculture of Japan! 暴走族! Literally, it means “brutal running tribe”, which already says the essentials about this subculture: it’s all about tuning cars and motorbikes to generate a brutal look. Originally, the Bōsōzoku gangs were pure motorbike clubs, but gradually migrated into the car scene. These gangs experienced their heyday at the beginning of the 1980s. They were recognisable by their tokko-fuku (特攻服), the “special attack uniform” based on the uniform of kamikaze pilots with slogans in kanji characters. Actually, we’ve only been familiar with these for a few years, around 2019 or a bit later. Before that, we all just focused on collecting model cars and displaying them in the showcase. Only little by little the thoughts came up to present the models adequately in dioramas, because some manufacturers brought fantastic buildings and motives on the market. But actually something was missing though! Dogs, enthusiastic car fans, amateur photographers, cargirls…You definitely won’t get bored here!
