Hot Wheels Cars made by AI – FEATURETTE

Photoshop, the measure of all things! AI is changing the way we do things, and this also applies to art. I remember like it was yesterday when I was in front of the computer generating virtual design renderings via Photoshop on the computer. It was a tedious process, all done by hand. The idea behind it was to design car models and matching packaging that would serve as inspiration for model car manufacturers! Over the period from 2018 to 2021, I generated more than 200 works, each one more ingenious than the next! The RISE AND FALL of the DTM – MiniGT, Tarmacworks, Hot Wheels FEATURETTE

How it all began The DTM was already known as the DRM, the German Racing Championship, in 1972 and enjoyed enormous popularity. Originally, production-based Group 2 touring cars competed in the racing series before the FIA adapted the regulations in 1982 and paved the way for Group C sports cars. The BMW 3.5 CSL and the M1, which was used in the Pro Car Series as well as in rallying, were famous names at the time, especially from BMW’s point of view. Hot Wheels provided us with numerous colour variants of the 3.0 CSL from 1973 and the M1 Pro Car. This concept of the DRM was associated with enormous…

Bōsōzoku, the craziness of Japan POP RACE FEATURETTE

Welcome to the Bōsōzoku subculture of Japan! 暴走族! Literally, it means “brutal running tribe”, which already says the essentials about this subculture: it’s all about tuning cars and motorbikes to generate a brutal look. Originally, the Bōsōzoku gangs were pure motorbike clubs, but gradually migrated into the car scene. These gangs experienced their heyday at the beginning of the 1980s. They were recognisable by their tokko-fuku (特攻服), the “special attack uniform” based on the uniform of kamikaze pilots with slogans in kanji characters. Later, the influence of the actual gangs faded, but the subculture remained and shifted to cars. Bōsōzoku style was born! An absolute masterpiece in its own way:…

1:64 Scale Miniature Figures – American Diorama FEATURETTE

“Does always a good figure…” Figures from American Diorama: Everyone knows them, everyone loves them (we hope so xD). Actually, we’ve only been familiar with these for a few years, around 2019 or a bit later. Before that, we all just focused on collecting model cars and displaying them in the showcase. Only little by little the thoughts came up to present the models adequately in dioramas, because some manufacturers brought fantastic buildings and motives on the market. But actually something was missing though! Dogs, enthusiastic car fans, amateur photographers, cargirls…You definitely won’t get bored here! The model vehicles were beautifully staged, but the scenery seemed rather lifeless and lonely.…
