TWOC MEMBERSHIP 2023 AMG PETRONAS F1 W13 E – Tarmacworks FEATURETTE
A touch of red on the silver arrow...
The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team celebrated its 55th anniversary together with AMG more than a year ago at the 2022 Belgian Grand Prix with a series of special activities. Founded in 1967 by engineers Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher, AMG has continued to build on its position as one of the leading performance and sports car brands through numerous motorsport successes and the development of unique road cars. By the way, we reflected on the history surrounding AMG in another post, which you can read here:
Steeped in history...
A replica of the W13 with a custom paint job featuring a mixture of the familiar star pattern and the red 300 SEL 6.8 AMG pattern on the chassis and engine cover, was exhibited in the fan zone. To mark the anniversary, the W13 was given a large sticker with the special "55" emblem, plus a classic start number on a white background and the AMG brand logo. Tarmacworks took this special event as an opportunity to present this vehicle as a membership model for the upcoming membership of the TWOC (Tarmac Works Owner Club) 2023 - 2024. In the past, the company had already repeatedly come up with special models for the collector community.
For example, a 930 RWB Rauh Welt Begriff Porsche in pink for 2019, an all-black Pagani Zonda Cinque "Black Mamba" for 2020 and a Toyota Hiace in 2021. Incidentally, the previous model for 2022/2023 was the legendary Datsun 510 Bluebird in BRE Datsun livery. So now it is to be the unpronounceable "Mercedes-AMG F1 W13 E Performance Mercedes-AMG 55th Anniversary Showcar" for 2023/2024... The model can currently be purchased plus membership on the official Tarmacworks website (www.tarmacworks.com) while stocks last. Only around 999 of this model will be produced, each car includes a membership card with an individual numbering!
In love with detail...
The vehicle itself has many interesting details. For comparison, we have put up the model of the F1 W13 E from Sparky, which was also released in 2023. The Sparky model comes in the usual livery that was used throughout the 2022 racing season. For comparison: In 2023, Mercedes-AMG started the race with an all-black Formula 1 car. However, the TWOC livery here was only shown for show purposes and was not used in the SPA 2023 race. Mercedes took 7th place (Hamilton) and 8th place (Russell).
The two different types of rims at the front and rear are particularly striking. While the standard rim covers are fitted at the rear, the front rim covers are reminiscent of the rims of the "ROTE SAU" from that era. The two-sided paintwork is also striking: Lewis Hamilton's race numbers 44 are on one side and George Russell's race numbers 63 on the other. In addition, the packaging once again looks extremely classy and high-quality, which makes this TWOC model something very special, whether you are an F1 fan or not!
