Return of the GTR after 20 years...
The first McLaren with the GTR designation was the McLaren F1 GTR, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995. The 2015 race car version of the McLaren P1 embodies the manufacturer's "form follows function" concept formula, as you can see from the athletic bodywork that this super sports car can boast record-breaking figures. The GTR version of the McLaren P1 is not road legal, but it doesn't need to be. All the better, you don't have to worry about road legality with a 1:64 scale CM model!
Owners of the McLaren P1 GTR were able to take part in races on some of the most legendary tracks in the world - and of course with special support from McLaren itself! Compared to its road-going version, the GTR is distinguished by the additional radiator openings and the fixed rear spoiler. A whole ten percent increase in performance can be acquired through these details alone. The 3.8-litre bi-turbo V8 engine produces a smooth 1000 hp, with which you can get the real racing car feeling in the incredibly spacious interior.
Pure V8 Bi-Turbo Power
The P1 GTR gets a tuned chassis and a wider track, which significantly benefits the cornering ratio. The racetrack-optimised aerodynamics experience improved handling in combination with the hybrid drive while the racing exhaust system is made of titanium. From a purely visual point of view, you can quickly see that this racing car was developed for the racetrack.
The flat front, the rear wings and the striking lines show that this car can do one thing, namely achieve dynamic performance. With predominantly curved lines, a wider and longer body and new styling elements, this McLaren impresses with absolute sophistication. The last of the 375 road-legal Mclaren P1s had barely rolled off the production line when lucky owners were given the opportunity to buy an even more aggressive version of the P1 - known simply as the P1 GTR for a whopping $2.5 million! 59 of these were made, 35 of which were in turn reverted to road-legal specification. So there are effectively only 23 of the P1 GTR variants left for the track (status from 2020).

In addition to the newly released CM model P1 GTR in original McLaren Orange, the manufacturer offers numerous world-famous paint schemes! Gulf and Marlboro are included as well as the homage livery of the McLaren F1 GTR from 1995, which 20 years ago was one of five GTRs to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. There are many more variants, but listing them would go beyond the scope of this article. So it is up to you to decide which version you would like to have in your true-to-scale garage!
