Ultimate Hypercar by TPC: Mercedes-AMG ONE – FEATURETTE
The Mercedes-AMG ONE...
...is an automotive superhero that holds lap records on legendary circuits such as the Nürburgring and Monza. It also became famous as the cover car for the video game "Forza Horizon 5". The company never released an exact figure, but the price was reportedly between 2 and 3 million Euros. Depending on the spec and options its calculated around 2.75 million Euros though. In addition, the model from TPC and Solo Models is comparatively cheap with prices under 40 Dollar. The first deliveries of the original car only started a year ago, so we had to wait too long for both the real car and the model car version! The car was never available or registered in the United States, which only adds to the exclusivity of the vehicle. A total of 275 vehicles are said to exist. In case of the modelcars its very limited and exclusive as well: TPC limited their creation to 999 units and every single car is individually numbered!
Formula 1 as a road car!
Many may have thought during the development period that the project would be impossible to implement! But with Euro 6 emission standards, the AMG ONE has finally made it onto the road! The car has a powertrain derived from the F1 racing car from 2015, consisting of a 1.6-liter V6 with an electrically assisted turbocharger and four electric motors. The set-up delivers a system output of 1,063 hp. The 8.4-kilowatt-hour battery is responsible for performance rather than range, as the hypercar can only travel just under 18 km on electricity alone. However, the electric range is hardly the main focus of the AMG One. It reaches a speed of 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and 200 km/h in exactly 7.0 seconds. The top speed is a governed 352 km/h, which puts it on a par with the Ferrari SF90 Stradale and the McLaren P1.
A long process...
Mercedes-AMG presented the One at the IAA 2017 and announced that it would launch the sports car with a Formula 1 engine in 2019. The date never materialized. Because the drivetrain was causing problems, Daimler initially put customers off until 2021. Software problems led to a further delay: AMG had to ask its customers for patience a second time. Exhaust gas treatment in accordance with the Euro 6 standard was the last hurdle that the AMG ONE still had to overcome. The first vehicles were finally delivered in 2023. We model car enthusiasts even had to wait until now, February 2024, until we could finally hold a 1/64th scale model in our hands!
It's finally here!
In 2005, Need for Speed: Most Wanted took an exciting new direction by introducing police chases and seamlessly blending them with underground racing culture. The game featured an interesting storyline centered around the player's pursuit of the city's most notorious street racer while evading the relentless police. This installment also saw the return of various racing modes, including circuit, sprint, drag and speed trap races, where you had to drive through speed traps as quickly as possible. With its intense police chases, different racing modes and storyline to become number 1 on the blacklist, this Need for Speed game became an absolute fan favorite! DCM Model also produced the highly sought-after model of the BMW M3 E46 GTR, which sold like hot cakes. One of our absolute favorites in the collection and unfortunately now very hard to get!
