802 hp, over 1000 Nm of torque and a price tag of 3.2 million euros plus taxes: That's the Pagani Huayra Roadster BC, a piece of art which is limited to 40 units only! The Italian small-series manufacturer has been relying on AMG engines since 1999 and was celebrating a very special anniversary in 2019. The Zonda became 20 years old and has achieved cult status meanwhile. Prices for used Zonda now range somewhere between two and 15 million euros. (Provided an owner wants to part with it at all). Back in 2011 Pagani celebrated the launch of the second model, the Huayra. 100 coupés were built and delivered, plus 20 Huayra BC, 100 planned Huayra Roadster and from spring 2020 this mighty Roadster BC.
A car that shouldnt exist...
The abbreviation BC stands for Benny Caiola, Pagani's first customer. When Caiola died in 2010, Horacio Pagani decided to dedicate the Huayra BC to his friend. The Huayra Roadster BC will follow in early 2020: a car that was never planned to be like this! Company founder Horacio Pagani explained that originally no Huayra Roadster BC was planned, since the team was already fully engaged in the development of the internally named C10 successor. The fact that this special model now exists after all is thanks to some persistent customers who promptly made bank transfers with the subject "Roadster BC".
The love of detail:
For some time now, the LCD Model company has been presenting glittering pieces of automotive history from recent years, including the Pagani Huayra Roadster BC. In addition to McLaren (570S, 765LT, Elva), the noble brand also focuses on a selection of Pagani models, such as the Zonda HP Barchetta. The great strength of the model car manufacturer is to transfer the enormous level of detail of the original vehicle to 1:64 scale. Thus, the finest paint jobs are just as represented as the clearly recognizable visible carbon structures. In terms of pricing: one might quickly assume figures of over 70 Euros for such a detailed model, but far from it - between 30 and 40 Euros are absolute top values in this segment, where many other model car manufacturers can take an example.
