What on earth are “POSTERCARS”? – Aston Martin, Bugatti, Koenigsegg FEATURETTE

Hypercar Heaven!

When we think of highly detailed models in 1:64 scale, typical manufacturer names such as Tarmacworks, MiniGT or Inno64 come to mind after a short time. If you are looking for something more, Error404, YM Model or PGM are usually the best places to go for model car collectors. In 2023, another manufacturer is making a name for itself: "Postercars". From our side, too, we have to admit that we have never heard of this company before, let alone seen one. Until now!

Start-up phase

Price and performance is absolutely unbeatable for such a high level of detail as Postercars!

The Postercars website is still under construction at the moment (there's nothing more than a newsletter subscription), but there are already 12 models from the first series of Postercars to buy. The line-up with 12 of the most unusual hypercars between the year of manufacture 2000 and 2022 is strongly reminiscent of the hypercar collections from 7/11 and Kyosho from years past. The 12 vehicles from Postercars are in the same style and price segment, all of which cost around $9 to $15, depending on the online retailer.

Each of the 6 Postercars models received a recolour in the original colour tones like the 1:1-car

Strictly speaking, there are only 6 different vehicles, each of which has received a second colour variant. Therefore, it is not mandatory to put all 12 models in the showcase. You can confidently decide on your favourite colour, which, as we all know, is a matter of taste. The name of the car, model number and colour name are indicated on each package. In addition to the already known hypercar models "McLaren P1" (competitor to Kyosho), "Pagani Zonda F" (competitor to MiniGT), "Lamborghini Sian" (competitor to Hot Wheels, MiniGT and Tomica as well as Majorette), there are the remaining three models that have taken our fancy! The choice of colours mostly corresponds to the original colours of the real vehicles.

New modelcars!

A fantastic addition to the hypercar collection is the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut and the Aston Martin Valkyrie. We already own the Jesko in 1:64 scale with models from Hot Wheels, HKM and FrontiArt, but in the not so known "Attack" version. This version is particularly striking because of the rear wing, which is optimised for maximum downforce. With the pointed fins on the upper edge of the rear, the Absolut is intended as a track tool for the racetrack. So far, this version of the Jesko Absolut has been made from Postercars in 1:64 scale only. No other manufacturer has attempted to do it!

Another personal highlight is the Aston Martin Valkyrie. Aston Martin and Red Bull have developed a hypercar for the road and the race track. Designed by star designer Adrian Newey, the Valkyrie is supposed to set standards in acceleration and cornering, so visually the Valkyrie (rejected from Norse mythology) is in a different league. So far, we have been able to take delivery of the Aston Martin Valhalla (also with a Nordic mythological background) in 1:64 scale. This one seems to be very similar to the Valkyrie, but it is much more well-behaved, both visually and in terms of performance! While the Valkyrie is equipped with a 1155hp V12 engine, the Valhalla (son of the Valkyrie) is equipped with a V8 hybrid engine with more than 1000hp. Thanks to Postercars, we can now add another milestone model from the Aston Martin family to make the collection complete.

Well...Not quite, because the spearhead of the Valkyrie would be the further developed AMR PRO variant with additional aerodynamic adjustments. So far, no manufacturer has dared to try this model!

PosterCars has 18 offerings now, I have all 18 and they are fantastic. The only thing that could have made them better would have been for the castings to have had metal bases. But that isn’t a deal breaker since they are so well-detailed!

Very well said! Exactly! Especially for the price its a no-brainer, an absolute must have! But since then I’ve nothing heard in case of future programs, hope these 18 were not their first as well as their last samples. Fingers crossed!
