Error404Model Madlane Lamborghini Diablo – A devil’s FEATURETTE

A very special Birthday gift...

2020 - As for Madlane's take on the supercar, the timing couldn't be better considering the big reveal took place in the wake of the Diablo's 30th anniversary. The Lamborghini Diablo succeeded the legendary Countach in 1990. As with the Countach, the design features of the Lamborghini Diablo included the typical scissor doors, which are still used today on the sports cars from St. Agata Bolognese.

It took roughly a year to complete, but Japan-based automotive shop Madlane has finally revealed what it's done to a Lamborghini Diablo in 2021: Shop founder Kazuki Ohashi put his tuning stamp on the Diablo. Without marginally breaking the iconic lines, the Japanese pimped the car visually with many tuning applications!

Absolutely filigree: the attention to detail of an Error404 model is simply breathtakingly beautiful!

Masterpiece in 1:64 scale

That's why the Error404 company, based in China, has dared to take on this vehicle in order to reproduce it as faithfully as possible in 1/64th scale. Bolted to an imitation carbon plate, the model immediately cuts a very different figure! In addition, there is the obligatory seal, which guarantees us that each of their models has a single production number and is limited to just 399 pieces. By the way, our demonstration model has the number 282.

Every detail fits: In this price segment it is particularly important that the model is practically flawless!

Every screw fits, even the lowering by the Airrex suspension was taken over. Also striking are the RAD48 KOR Turbofan wheels, painted to match the car colour while eaturing the Madlane lettering. In general the Madlane Diablo has a more classy, street-focused look. The carbon fiber accents, and the white, black and red colour palette give it an elegant exterior to compliment its unruly innards. So while it may not scream race car with decals, a roll cage and lots of extra aero intakes, the heritage of the Diablo Jota PO.01 (Race Version) is definitely there in the inspiration and design of the sleek custom body parts. These parts were hand-built from fibreglass by Pop Design, a Lamborghini aero specialist from Japan.

Race Mode

In 1994, a year after the death of founder and engineer Feruccio Lamborghini departed, the company decided to finally enter the world of motorsports. This of course went against the late founder’s wishes, who famously regarded racing as a waste of time and money. Having had mixed success with the ageing Countach, the Japan Lamborghini Owners Club (JLOC) ordered two competition cars to compete in the 1995 JGTC series. One road-going car was also supplied for homologation purposes.

Years ago, Kyosho was the only brand to produce a JLOC Diablo in 1/64th scale.

The Jota PO cars were built by Lamborghini Engineering, who were responsible for Lamborghini’s F1 team. They were based on the SE series, but power was pushed up to 620hp, topping the standard SE30 Jota which peaked at 595hp. Under Madlane's hood the giant 5.7-liter V12 is still mostly stock based on a 1997 Diablo SV with 490hp. Major changes to the body include the addition of a front spoiler, creating a more dynamic rear spoiler, and adding false intakes in the hood. The real ones are on the Diablo's roof to feed the supercar's rear engine.

Tomica's premium segment also offered a Diablo SV with folding headlights!

"Be impressive"

The Diablo Jota cars are special to Madlane's Kazuki, because they were awesome to watch back in the day. They were run by a Japanese club as well as their style and power that was unique compared to other car brands! For this, it is all the more an absolute privilege that Error404 pays tribute to this special vehicle accordingly with a strictly limited special series. The obsession with detail is superbly reflected in Kazuki's reproduction, or as he so beautifully puts it: "Sometimes you don’t need to be the fastest bull to be the most impressive."
